Let's understand JAIIB/DBF Revised Syllabus

The Indian Institute of Banking & Finance (IIBF) offers  flagship courses namely JAIIB & CAIIB which provides the practicing Bankers the fundamental knowledge base on Banking. 

IIBF has revised the syllabi of JAIIB/DB&F/SOB/CAIIB courses to keep pace with the developments and to make them more contemporary and conceptual. Under the revised syllabi, there are 4 compulsory subjects in JAIIB/DB&F, 4 compulsory subjects in CAIIB along with 1 elective paper (to be chosen from five elective subjects) and 3 compulsory subjects in SOB.

The first examination under the revised syllabi for JAIIB/DB&F/SOB/CAIIB shall be held from May/June 2023 onwards.

Let's understand JAIIB revised Exam Pattern!

SUBJECTS UNDER REVISED SYLLABUS JAIIB/DB&F:

All Subjects are Compulsory.

MODULE-WISE TOPICS FOR EACH SUBJECT UNDER THE REVISED SYLLABUS

PAPER I – INDIAN ECONOMY & INDIAN FINANCIAL SYSTEM

MODULE D: ETHICS IN BANKS AND FINANCIAL INSTITUTIONS

 

PAPER III – ACCOUNTING & FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT FOR BANKERS

MODULE A: ACCOUNTING PRINCIPLES AND PROCESSES

MODULE B: FINANCIAL STATEMENTS AND CORE BANKING SYSTEMS

MODULE C: FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT

MODULE D: TAXATION AND FUNDAMENTALS OF COSTING

 

PAPER IV – RETAIL BANKING & WEALTH MANAGEMENT

MODULE A: Retail Banking

MOUDLE B: Retail Products and Recovery

MODULE C: Support Services – Marketing of Banking Services/Products

Points to remember:

  • The test is objective in nature
  • The test comprises 100 questions.
  • Each paper is of 100 marks 
  • Time allotted for each paper is 120 minutes.
  • Entrants will be considered if they get at least 45 marks in each subject and a cumulative 50% in all subjects in one attempt.
  • Applicants must re-register if they cannot pass the test after three years or five tries, whichever comes first. Such applicants will not be given credit for any prior passed subjects.
  • Starting when you register for the first try, the three-year window or five tries, whichever comes first, will begin.
  • Attempts will be recorded when an applicant applies for the examination, whether or not the individual takes the test.
  • A candidate will be qualified to apply for any five of the six exams within three years.
  • The JAIIB Exam 2023 test has no age restrictions. However, candidates must work in the banking and financial industry.
